More than 600 applications were accepted from solo artists and music groups.
More than 3 thousand people took part in the V International festival-competition of folk song and dance art “Kazan solgese” – “Kazan towel”. In total, more than 600 applications were accepted from solo artists, song, dance and music groups.
The festival, which took place in Kazan from 28 to 30 August, brought together performers and groups from more than 30 regions of Russia, countries of near and far abroad. Among the participants were children from 3 years old and retired people over 96 years old.
The jury consists of famous Russian musicians. The jury was headed by Lima Kustabayeva, the creator of the project and President of the festival, People's artist of Russia, Honored Artist of Russia and Tatarstan, Professor of Music at the Kazan State University of Culture and Ats.
At the first stage of the competition, master classes on folk songs, choreography, instrumental music and theater direction were organized. There was also a round table where the jury members and contestants discussed folk art.
On the City and Republic Day, a gala concert of the winners of the competition was held on the at the Old Tatar Settlement.
